Blogroll

Well, I have now made the grand total of 45p from Amazon referrals. When I told my husband about this he said ‘Well done!’ entirely unironically. Oh dear. I also had a baffling email from Amazon this morning suggesting I might want to display a large banner ad for the Kindle. I suppose there may be people out there who would be willing to buy a Kindle just because my books aren’t available on it, but if there are, I doubt they’d want to give me the commission on the sale. 😉

Also, I’m looking to expand my blogroll. If you’re a commenter here, or someone who shares interests with me, and you have a blog and are OK with me linking to it, please leave a comment on this post. I’m happy to link to non-book-related blogs – crafts, film reviews, whatever, you’re a bunch of interesting people – though I’m not going to link to blogs about weight loss or celebrities or celebrities and their weight loss.

If you’re a spammer, then no, I’m not going to link to your warez site or your pyramid scheme, just like I’m not going to let your comments out of Akismet’s spam trap.

If you’re an acquaintance of mine and you’re a spammer, well, you ought to be ashamed of yourself. 😉

  1. Feel free to link to me. My blog is mostly vintage stuff, with science fiction/ retro-futurism thrown in. In other words, weird old tat. (I mistyped that as ‘weird old tart’ – Freudian slip?!)

    1. It has arrived and is lovely! Though I did scare myself rigid thinking I had somehow managed to get the lead glaze from the small bead on my fingers and from there into my mouth, and then realised, duh, that strange taste on my fingers was toothpaste.

      1. Yay! So glad it arrived okay and you are pleased with it.

There isn’t much to worry about with the glaze as long as you don’t suck it, I didn’t mean to make you paranoid about it! Lead is only dangerous if you eat it really, the warning on the glaze bottles is mostly for using them before they are fired and to indicate that you can’t use it on anything you want to put food on/in.

        1. Well, that’s a relief!

I had toothpaste on my fingers because a spider got into the bathroom earlier on today and I was assisting it back out of the window with the non-business end of a toothbrush, but of course I’d forgotten that by five o’clock in the afternoon.

  2. Thanks for the link! I need to sort a blogroll out, and will definitely include you on it – and with any luck my blog will feature Tzenni socks at some point in the not too distant future!

  3. Why is your book just available as a paperback on Amazon – why not make a Kindle version available too? And since you’re self-publishing, why not have it available on more stores? like Smashwords (where a lot of indie authors publish their books)

    1. I’ve looked into the process. But it requires that I have a ITIN in order to declare tax on US sales, because I’m not a US taxpayer, and the trouble that a couple of friends have had with that process has made me think it’s probably not worthwhile for the amount I’d earn.

    2. Also, thanks for the tip about Smashwords – I think a couple of my friends have published there, so I’ll ask them what their experience has been with it. Have you used the Smashwords site yourself?

      1. I’m not an author, but I do buy some eBooks from Smashwords. There’s a lot of indie authors there, so I just wondered why you didn’t have your book on sale there.
