Today I bought stock art for the Firebrand cover and started messing around with it. Here’s a sneak preview:
Yes, it’s a headless woman, but since the book actually does involve the heroine complaining at one point that getting skirts up is easier than getting trousers down and that bustles just make everything more complicated still, I figure I’m justified. (Kadia: not your blushing ‘oh, my, what is this inexplicable tingle I fell down there, kind sir?’ kind of heroine)
In other news, I am slightly boggled that the first two books are still selling at a steady drip-feed despite having been out since 2010, and also entertained by my own reaction to the sales page whenever I remember to go and look at it. I’m always much happier when someone buys a copy of The Hawkwood War than I am when someone buys a The Maker’s Mask, because I figure anyone might take a chance on the first book but they wouldn’t buy the second unless they actually wanted the rest of the story.
Love the cover art, I want her boots 😉
Today will involve playing around with fonts, and being very, very glad I only have three words to get onto the front cover this time. 🙂
I expect there to be SAUCE, madam!
I had to spend a lot of time yelling ‘get your hands off each other and go and do plot’ at the main characters. And it only partly worked.
I like that her legs clearly have muscles.
That was something I liked as well.
Lovely cover! Really looking forward to this one coming out! If you want to do a guest spot on release day, let me know! 🙂
(I left this comment before but must have clicked back or something before it actually stuck itself to your blog. Argh!)
I could have sworn I replied to this but WordPress ATE THAT TOO. It’s like we’re cursed or something. Anyway, yes, I would love to do a guest spot, thank you!
